So I want to mark a card as duplicate. Technically speaking, the text is totally different so it's not a true duplicate of anohter card, but it can refer to the same issue,

for example a feature request to handle something in a better way, and i would like to redirect or merge cards - you know how when you look at bug trackers or feature requests and they have some number #1118 or whatever, someone will take a look at the ticket and write "closed, duplicate of #921"

Hi @zitot , welcome to the Trello Community!

Thanks for sharing your use case! I think there can be a lot of different workflows to consider. You can mark a card as Duplicate and then either archive them, label them as "Duplicate" or move them to a "Duplicate" list.

For now, what I am thinking is that you can create a card button called 'Mark as Duplicate'. This card button when pressed, will then look for a Custom Field, say, "Duplicate Of" and then that custom field has the card title of the original feature request named "#921 original feature request".  This Custom Field is also pre-filled by someone who is taking a look at the ticket. Once that is filled, they can then use the card button that does these steps:

Once this card button has been pressed, this duplicate card now looks like this:

Here are some helpful documentation:

If you really want to use card numbers instead of card titles you can choose from our Power-Ups as well: https://trello.com/power-ups/search?q=car%20number

Hope this helps you create your own workflow on how to mark a card as duplicate by leveraging our Automation features.
