Hi everyone,
We recently built and listed a Power-Up for Trello that lets you create cards using voice.
The motivation came from a common pattern we kept seeing: many Trello cards are created during meetings, calls, or quick discussions, but they are often added later. Sometimes they’re delayed, sometimes details are lost, and sometimes the card never gets created.
This Power-Up is meant to address that specific moment. You speak a task or idea, and it's added as a Trello card to the appropriate board or list. Trello remains the system of record. This is simply an additional way to capture cards when typing isn’t convenient.
Here you can watch a demo - Gennie + Trello Integration
We’re sharing this here to get perspective from people who use Trello regularly:
Do cards ever get delayed in your workflow before they reach Trello?
Would voice-based capture be helpful, or does it not fit your workflow?
Are there existing Power-Ups or Trello features you rely on for quick capture?
Honest feedback, positive or critical, is equally valuable.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
Hello @Vishal Sahu
The idea of the power-up is interesting indeed. I find Chrome extension and voice call interesting. Here is my feedback:
On the usage clarity:
This is a great catch. Right now, the screenshots alone don’t fully communicate how someone actually goes from “hearing about the Power-Up” to “creating their first voice card.” A short walkthrough video (even 60–90 seconds) would make that first interaction much clearer and eliminate much of the guesswork. I have added the YouTube video to the post; you can go through it.
On phone numbers & data security:
Totally fair concern, and we’re glad you raised it. Since phone numbers are involved, we treat them as sensitive personal data and apply strict security controls:
We know trust is especially important when voice and personal identifiers are involved, and we take that responsibility seriously.
Really appreciate you calling these out. Feedback like this directly helps us improve both usability and transparency. If you’re open to it, we’d also love to know what your ideal “quick capture” experience in Trello looks like.
