I’m currently locked out of my Trello account due to two-factor authentication (2FA) being sent to an old email address that I never updated. Unfortunately, the domain associated with that email is no longer active, so I can’t receive the 6-digit verification code required to log in.
I didn't enable 2FA on my account so I presume this has been a change made to Trello itself.
I know the correct username and password. I just can't complete the 2FA step.
Is there any way to temporarily disable 2FA so I can log in and update my email address?
Hu @C Sense
It sounds like you're in a tough spot with your Trello account, but I can certainly help guide you on the next steps to get this resolved.
Because of our strict security protocols, Atlassian is unable to manually disable two-factor authentication (2FA) on an account. Typically, we direct users experiencing 2FA issues to our Login issues related to two-step verification | Atlassian Support.
However, since you no longer have access to the old email address associated with your account and cannot receive the verification code, you will need to reach out to our support team directly to verify your identity and regain access.
Please follow these steps to submit a support ticket:
Go to the
Atlassian Support: Pricing, Billing, & Licensing | Atlassian.
Under How can we help you?, select Your account.
Under Choose a topic, select Log-in issues.
Scroll down and click Need more help?.
Click Need more help? a second time when it appears.
Input the details of your issue in the Your question box and click Submit.
Once you've submitted the ticket, a member of our support team will get in touch to assist you further.
Best,
Samuil
Hi @C Sense ,
I don't think we can turn off 2FA without access, as it's designed this way for security reasons.
Can you use this form to contact Support for help login (option: account login and email issues):

Hi there,
Yea I didn't turn on 2FA, its just all the sudden now requesting a code from my email which I no longer have nor have had for a few years now. Its odd.
When attempting to do contact, it asks for site URL of of my app within my organization; Im not with any organization, Ive been using Trello for years since before Atlassian took over.
Without that It just says ask the community hence how I ended up here. Dont really know what to do? Lol

Hi @C Sense
As @Carlos Garcia Navarro mentioned, the fastest path is to go to https://id.atlassian.com and use the "Can't access your account?" flow.
This routes you to Atlassian's account recovery team, who can verify your identity through alternate means (billing records, previous login patterns, etc.) and remove or bypass the 2FA requirement manually.
