I always get this if I rotate my phone to landscape mode then back to portrait. If I close the board and reopen it the position sticks until I rotate my phone again.

Uninstall the app and try it again. What is the model and your Android OS version? That would explain why you are seeing the kanban view as the way you are seeing it. More onto that, your best bet is to ask Atlassian support regarding this. Since you are on free version, you don't have an access to that. To have access, you would need to subscribe to free trial version, make a request to them and then cancel your subscription.
