Hi Trello community,
I wanted to share a workflow we’ve been experimenting with and get feedback on whether this aligns well with how others use Trello.
The problem we were trying to solve
A lot of Trello cards come up during calls, meetings, or quick discussions, but they often get created later. That delay sometimes leads to missing details or forgotten cards.
What we tried
We set up a voice-based workflow using Gennie, where:
A user speaks a task or idea naturally
The input is converted into a Trello card
The card is added to the correct board/list with basic details (title, notes)
Trello remains the system of record; the voice step is just an alternative way to capture cards when typing isn’t convenient.
We recorded a short walkthrough video showing:
How a spoken task becomes a Trello card
How lists and details are mapped
Where this fits into a standard Trello workflow
(Video link included below for clarity, shared only to explain the setup.)
What I’d love feedback on
Does this feel like a practical way to capture cards, or does it add unnecessary complexity?
In your experience, when do Trello cards most often get delayed or forgotten?
Are there Trello-native workflows or Power-Ups that already solve this well?
Sharing this purely as a workflow example, and would really value input from experienced Trello users.
Thanks!
