I have a WordPress site. What Power-Ups are the best for this setup?

  1. I want to have a form for people to fill out on my WP website
  2. I want it imported directly to Trello
  3. I want TimeTracking and invoice

I looked at:

Ninja forms for WordPress

Power-Ups: Time Tracker by TimeCamp

Zapier

Or do you suggest other options?

Most form app works well with Trello and typically will deposit the text in the description. If you need to work with the form data as part of automation, do consider whether they can be easily extracted. Some form app have their data in attachment section making it impossible to use the data. In general, power up data will not be available to Trello automation. It is important to consider some of these in the selection of add on to Trello.

Having support in Zapier and or Make is always helpful.

Hello @Liv Marit Haakenstad

You can use the Service Desk Power-Up for an all-in-one solution to create, embed forms, automate actions and more.

- Create forms easily
- Embed them on a page you want
- Define automations on what you want actions you want to take place when a form is submitted.

And yes, you would need Time Tracker Power-up for time tracking. Feel free to reach out or book a free demo. Good luck!

It's Mary for Planyway power-up for Trello

For integrating a WordPress site with Trello and adding functionalities like forms, time tracking, and invoicing, your approach with Ninja Forms, Time Tracker by TimeCamp, and Zapier is quite efficient. Also, you can experiment with Planyway time tracking for Trello. Here’s how these tools and power-ups align with your requirements and some additional suggestions:

Forms on WordPress to Trello

Ninja Forms + Zapier: Ninja Forms is a versatile WordPress plugin that allows you to create custom forms easily. By using Zapier, you can automate the process of sending form submissions from your WordPress site directly to Trello. When a user fills out a form on your site, Zapier can create a Trello card in a specific board and list, capturing the form data. This setup is ideal for project management, customer inquiries, or task tracking.

Time Tracking and Invoicing

Time Tracker by Planyway: This Trello Power-Up allows you to track the time spent on each card directly within Trello. It's excellent for project management and can help with invoicing by providing detailed reports on how much time was spent on specific tasks or projects.pic9_blog_jira_time_tracking_report_reports_export_excel_e1970ca1a5.gif

For invoicing, while Planyway and TimeCamp provide the time tracking component, you might need an additional tool to handle the invoicing part directly. TimeCamp itself offers invoicing features but within its own platform. With Planyway you can generate invoices based on the time tracked for projects or tasks in the dashboards or Excel reports and process invoicing further.

Additional Suggestions

  1. Trello Custom Fields Power-Up: This can be useful for adding extra information to your Trello cards, such as client details, project status, or billing information. It can enhance your workflow by allowing you to store and display more detailed information directly on your cards.

  2. Plutio: While not a direct Power-Up, Plutio is an all-in-one business management platform that integrates with Trello. It offers project management, time tracking, and invoicing all in one place. You can track time spent on Trello tasks and then directly invoice clients through Plutio. It might require using Zapier for the integration.

  3. Harvest: Harvest is another time tracking and invoicing tool that has a Power-Up for Trello. It allows you to track time directly on Trello cards and then use that data for invoicing and reporting. Harvest might be a more direct solution if you're looking for an integrated time tracking and invoicing solution within Trello.

Integration Workflow with Zapier

For automating workflows between WordPress, Trello, and other tools (like time tracking or invoicing software), Zapier is incredibly powerful. You can set up Zaps (automations) that trigger actions based on specific events, such as a new form submission on your WordPress site creating a card in Trello or logging time tracked in Trello to your invoicing software.

When choosing the best Power-Ups and tools for your setup, consider the specific needs of your workflow, such as:

  • The complexity of the forms and the data you need to capture.
  • How you plan to track time (per card, per project, etc.).
  • Your invoicing process (directly from time tracking data, fixed fees, etc.).

Each business has unique needs, so selecting the tools that best fit your specific workflow is crucial. The combination of Ninja Forms, Zapier, and Time Tracker by TimeCamp is a solid start and may cover all your bases when properly configured.
