I need to separate my board into more groups than current boards and closed boards on Trello.

I need to see all the open boards but be able to separate them into a couple of groups.  Ready for Billing and active open are the two categories that would work best.  How do I do that?  As it stands now I just have current open boards and closed boards.

The best way to achieve that would be to create collections to group the boards together. Collections are managed from the Workspace's board page. For example, you could create two collections, one called 'Ready for Billing', and one called 'Active open'. Then add each board to their relevant collection. 

You can manage collections by clicking on the Workspaces tab at the top of the page, then select your Workspace. This will redirect you to your Workspace boards page, where you'll be able to create and view collections.
