Is it possible to combine two accounts with separate email addresses into a single account?
Hi @Greg Coggins ,
This is a common question in the Atlassian Community, so you’re definitely not alone.
No, Atlassian currently does not support merging two Atlassian accounts into one, even if both accounts belong to you and use different email addresses.
Merging not supported because?
Each Atlassian account is treated as a unique identity in the Atlassian cloud ecosystem (including products like Jira, Confluence, and Trello).
Account data such as:
Site access
Project roles
Product licenses
Community points/badges
Marketplace purchases
is tied directly to that specific account ID, and there’s no backend process available to merge them.
✅ What you can do instead
1️⃣ Choose a Primary Account
Decide which account you want to keep as your main one (usually the one with:
More product access
Admin permissions
Atlassian Community points
Active subscriptions
2️⃣ Transfer Access & Permissions
For the account you want to stop using:
Add your primary account to all relevant sites
Reassign project roles and permissions
Transfer site or organization admin rights (if applicable)
3️⃣ Change the Email Address (If Needed)
If your goal is just to use a different email:
Log into the account you want to keep
Update the email address in your Atlassian Account settings
Then deactivate or stop using the secondary account
I hope this helps you out.
