How to turn off email notifications when new card is created?

Hello,  earlier today I set up a Gmail add on and must have clicked/not clicked a setting as now I am receiving an email notification each time I create a new card (which I was not receiving before).  I have changed my email frequency notifications in settings to 'Never-don't send emails', however I am still receiving emails. I have also disabled the Gmail add on, but no luck. Any ideas where I am going wrong?
