How do I get rid of the new menu bar at the bottom that has inbox planner board and switch board. Most useless thing ever and annoying
Unfortunately you don't. It's the new interface.
There is talk of now an option to dock it, but I never got that in testing, and while I hear for some it's reappearing I have yet to see (a screenshot of) it. Supposedly now everyone has that, with text instead of just icons.
I also hear people are blocking it with element hiders and that may work, but if you use Views you are gonna need it.
If you check the forums, there's been much backlash and debate, but Atlassian seem to have decided, for now, who knows.
is there much support of that menu board, or a reason for it? It adds friction to the board switching that i used to do, and if i knew the reason for the change i might be able to better tell my team why their workflow has been broken without any advance notice.

I thought I'd ask Atlassian's Support AI...
The Board Switcher is designed to make navigating between boards and managing your workflow much smoother and more efficient.
The Board Switcher allows you to quickly switch between your Inbox, Planner, and any board, or even view them side-by-side. This centralizes your navigation, so you don’t have to leave your current view.
You can open the Board Switcher by using the keyboard shortcuts, making it much faster to jump between boards with minimal interruption and reduced context switching.
My opinion: if you're focusing on a board, what you precisely don't want is Workspace-level navigation in your face.
I don't get why they put it smack in the middle of every board.
It should at least auto-hide and pop up on hover.
But from an earlier response I got: Atlassian is now "a keyboard driven environment for power-user efficiency".
