BEHANZIN J July 8, 2019

When a card is created in a list, I want this one to be copied into an other list exept if this card is already in the second list. Is it possible to do this ?

Yes, this is easily possible with the Butler Power-Up.

Let's say you have for lists on your board: A, B, C, D

Now, when a card is created in list A or C, you want to have it copied over into list D.

When a card is created in list B, you don't want anything to be done to the card.

What you would have to do in Butler is set up two rules.

Rule 1: when a card is added to list A, copy the card to list D

Rule 2: when a card is added to list C, copy the card to list D

- Does that help?

But what can I do if the card in the A list is moved into the D list but there is already the card ?

The best thing I can recommend is to think through how you want to deal with the cards on your board. And in particular, whether copying a card is really a good action.

Another thing you could is, when you copy a card, you could create a link between the cards (the original and the mirror). And then, on a certain trigger (like a label), you could determine that the original card is archived.

The command would be something like this:

when a blue label is added to a card in list D, find the card linked in the attachments and archive it

There are certainly many ways. But you first need to think it through how the cards shall move in the board and what shall happen with each move.

Then it becomes easier to make a recommendation.
