I had an older employee use a general email address when they were employed with our company. We have hired a new employee and are using the same email address as the terminated employee. When i attempt inviting the new employee to Trello, Trello says we need the password of the old employee. Is there a way for the administration to change the password or reset the password of the terminated employee?
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Trello uses Atlassian Accounts to let people in, and there are two ways to manage these. Either the account is personal, or it is managed. I mainly use two - the personal one I use here, and my employer manages my other one (when I leave, they are required to delete it)
In a managed account, the organisation that owns it can force me to reset my password. In a personal account, the owner can use "forgot password" to reset it.
In both cases, you will need to be able to read the emails that get sent to the owner of the account to confirm that they need to reset.
If you don't have access to that email address, you can't do this.
By the way, you should never use general or shared emails for access to anything, nor should you reuse email accounts for humans. It's insecure and destroys your ability to audit things.
