How can an email update automatically unarchive a Trello card?

Joshua Fox August 8, 2018

Sometimes email arrives to update an archived card.

The update is correctly made, but when such new information arrives, we want to have the card automatically "revived", either by automatically removing the card from the archive, or else by creating a copy of the card.

How can I configure this?

Hi Joshua

You can use the Butler Power Up to accomplish this.

Enable the Butler Power up, then create a new rule.

On the trigger, click the icon that looks like a comment bubble and use the command "when a comment is posted to a card", then click the + button to get to the action. On action, go to the command that says "archive this card" and change archive to unarchive.  Hit the + next to the action and then click save.

Now when a comment is added to an archived card, the card will appear back in it's original list.
