How can I recover saved work on a card

Joanna

I was able to grab the JSON information, but need it to get into a readable and proper format with bullet points and all - and the current JSON version repeats itself over and over and over again.... this is not okay.  I worked for hours updating this card (all online) and it randomly reverted back to last night's information.  Someone needs to make this right.

Hello @Joanna

glad you managed to recover it.

For future reference, Trello does keep previous card description changes in the background, even though the old description is not visible in the normal web UI. Atlassian’s documented recovery method is to open the card, take the card ID from the URL, and check:

https://trello.com/1/cards/<cardID>/actions?filter=updateCard:desc

There you can look for the previous description in data.old.desc. This works as long as the lost text had actually been saved before it was overwritten.

FYI - after about an hour of research trying to get my information back, I found an AMAZING Power Up app called "Card Description History for Trello" that was able to show me my revision history and recover the version I needed.  Thank goodness.  I should never have had to deal with this and Trello should have something to fix these issues on their end.
