I’m refining a Trello board used by a small content team where cards move through stages such as Draft, Editing, and Live. The issue arises when several contributors make updates to the same card, which occasionally interferes with Butler automation or causes duplicate triggers.
This workflow supports content operations for our website, Import Mania PK, so consistency is important. Is there a recommended way to structure automation rules or assign responsibilities so that collaborative edits don’t break the flow? I’d appreciate any practical configuration tips or examples that have worked in real scenarios.
Hi Salman, :)
Hope you are doing well,
Welcome to the community!!
Regarding your question about Trello automations, these are typically triggered instantly. However, depending on the number of actions involved, they might take a few seconds to execute completely.
If multiple collaborators are making edits at the same time or in a very short time span, it can sometimes interfere with certain actions and how the automation actions are processed.
As a workaround, to ensure everything runs smoothly, I’d suggest implementing a visual aid, such as Labels, to help coordinate with your team.
Here is a simple way to set this up:
Assign a specific label for each operation or automation process.
Add a final step to your automation to update or change the label once all actions are finished.
This lets other collaborators know that the automation has fully completed its work before they make any further changes to the card. 💡
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
