Free member trying to upgrade to standard or premium

Hey, i'm trying to upgrade my free account to standard or premium but I don't want to upgrade (and pay) for everyone on the boards. 

Let me know how to do this.

The subscriptions are for everyone in the workspace.  For example, when you pay for Slack, you pay for everyone in your Slack instance.  

You could make a workspace where you are the only member, but remember the paid features will only work on boards in that workspace.

We do not have phone support. 

When you say “I can’t seem to do that” can you tell my why? What is the error?

Im not sure I understand. If you scroll down and click “contact support” at trello.com/contact you can email support and they will respond. You might have to play with the reasons so it doesn’t redirect you here.
