Good morning,

I have a problem. I want certain emails to create a card, so I created a rule in Outlook to forward them to the dashboard email. However, I noticed that the cards are only created if the email is sent directly; it doesn't work with forwarded emails.

Any suggestions? I appreciate the help.

Best regards,

Buen dia,

Saludos

his is a known Outlook limitation. When Outlook forwards an email, it rewrites the headers and sender info, and Trello’s email-to-board no longer recognizes it as a valid incoming message, so no card is created.

If you can, use an Outlook redirect instead of forward, since redirect keeps the original headers intact. If that’s not available in your setup, the reliable workaround is to send the emails directly to the board address or route them through Gmail and forward from there, which Trello handles correctly.

Good morning,

This is a fairly common problem. When Outlook forwards an email, it changes the structure of the message and the sender information. Because of this, the system that creates postcards no longer recognizes it as the original email and simply ignores it.

It often helps to use the “Forwarding” option instead of “Forwarding” in the Outlook rule. Forwarding keeps the sender and headers unchanged, which is necessary for many systems to create postcards.

If this is not possible, the most reliable solution is to send emails directly to the address specified in the control panel (or add the recipient to the list of recipients), as forwarding messages is often not supported.

I hope this helps, and thank you in advance for looking into this.

https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Trello-questions/Email-forwarding-to-email-to-board-doesn-t-create-new-cards/qaq-p/1460802?utm_source=chatgpt.com
