Hi,
I’d like to suggest a small change that would make a big impact in my daily Trello workflow.
Duplicating cards is something I do constantly (weekly planning, unfinished tasks, recurring work).
Right now it takes several UI steps, and while each one is simple, the repetition creates noticeable friction. Shortcuts like CTRL+C CTRL+V create a copy at the end of the list (I don't want to scroll to see it, EVERY TIME, I want it upfront.
What would be extremely useful is a one-step action to duplicate a card directly below the current one — for example:
a quick menu action
or a keyboard shortcut
or a contextual button near other card actions
This wouldn’t change Trello’s logic, but it would make it much faster for iterative workflows where copying a card is intentional and frequent.
At the moment, duplicating a card feels slower than it should for such a common action.
Even a minimal shortcut here would significantly improve efficiency.
Curious if others feel the same...
Bye from Italy
Marco
Hi @Marco Stucchi ,
Welcome to the community!
You’re right that duplicating cards is a common workflow, and it’s helpful to hear where it feels slow for you.
Currently, Trello doesn’t have a single-click “duplicate this card directly below” button on the card front. However, there is a way to copy a card that might help streamline your process:
Click on the card menu (the three dots on the card).
Select "Copy."
Choose to keep it in the same list and (optionally) set the position where you want the duplicate to appear.
Then, click "Create Card."
This method allows you to place the copied card exactly where you want it in the list. Let me know if this helps or if you have any other suggestions!
