Hello,

I am experiencing an issue when trying to link cards in Trello. When I attempt to copy and paste a card link to relate it to another card, or when I try to link it using the Attachment option, I receive the following pop‑up message: “this is not a valid link.”

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi @Ingrid Moreira ,

Welcome to the community!

Sorry you’re having trouble linking cards in Trello. First, double-check that you’re copying the full Trello card URL—it should look something like https://trello.com/c/AbCdEfGh/123-card-title. Sometimes, little things like extra spaces or special characters can sneak in when copying and pasting, so make sure the link is clean.

It’s also worth clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, since old data can sometimes cause weird errors. If that doesn’t help, try using a different browser or opening Trello in incognito or private mode, just to rule out any browser extensions or cached issues.

Finally, make sure you actually have permission to view both cards or boards you’re trying to link. If you don’t have access, Trello might display that “not a valid link” error.

Hope one of these does the trick! If not, let us know.
