Hello,
I am currently unable to access my Trello account on a new device because the login verification is being sent to an old email address that I no longer have access to.
This email address was linked to a previous professional activity and is now completely inactive.
However, I am still logged into my Trello account on other devices (phone and/or computer), which confirms that I am the legitimate account owner.
I would like to:
update my account email address to a new one, or
regain full access to my account without requiring verification through the old email
Please let me know what information or verification you need from me to proceed (account details, board names, screenshots, etc.).
Thank you very much for your help.
Best regards,
Marie-Astrid
If you don't have an access to the old account, there is no possibility to change the email address.
You don't use that email anymore
You may no longer have access to the email address associated with your account. This happens sometimes when you change jobs and aren't using your work email anymore. This can also happen if you delete your email account.
For security reasons, we are not able to change the email address on your account (see below). Your best bet is to contact your former employer directly and ask if they can help you reclaim your Trello account by temporarily re-opening your old email account.
The Trello team cannot change the email address associated with your account.
If you no longer have access to the old email address on your Trello account, Trello support cannot change the email for you for security reasons.
In this situation, there are unfortunately only two options:
Regain access to the old email
Contact your former employer or email provider and ask if they can temporarily reactivate the old mailbox so you can receive the Trello verification email and log in.
Once you’re back in via that email, update your Trello/Atlassian account to a new email address.
Create a new Trello/Atlassian account
If reactivating the old email is impossible, you’ll need to create a new account with your current email.
Trello (and Atlassian generally) can’t bypass email ownership or move an account to a new email without the ability to verify control of the original address.
Hope it helps 🙌
