Due date triggers for a custom field

Hi team,

I’m trying to set up a due date automation where a user is notified 14 days before an expiry date. I’ve created a custom date field called Approval Expiry, and I’d like Trello to automatically send an email notification 14 days before this date — so we can proactively follow up with the customer.

However, I can’t seem to find a way to trigger automation based on a custom date field, and I’m unsure if this is even possible within Trello’s current capabilities.

Is there a workaround or native solution for this? Any help would be appreciated!

for my loan processing client with 3 CF dates and 5 reminder triggers we used a proxy card which will find its way to the source card for each reminder. When triggered the corresponding item on a Reminder checklist is also checked and the proxy card archived.
