I am currently a small business of just myself - all the benefits of the business class seem really valuable but I want to keep some personal boards that aren’t a part of the team board. Will I still get access to all the benefits that come with the business class subscription on my personal boards too?
Hi @Bradley Williams ,
Welcome to the community!
Yes, You will get all the benefits that are available for business class in your private boards until you create and use the private board from the same account that has a business class plan!

Thanks for your response. I’m not sure that I understand - basically I want to have all the integrations on both my personal and business boards. I’m still not clear on whether this is possible?

The best practice is to put all of your boards into your Business Class Team - you can control whether those boards are Private or not even if they are inside the Business Class team. If you do it this way, the boards will always have the Business Class features.
There is currently a loophole where some of the Business Class features will be on "Personal" boards, but I would recommend putting those boards into the Business Class team and making them Private (which is the same as having a "Personal" board for all intents and purposes) because this loophole will not stay this way.
In the future the Business Class features will only be available on Business Class team boards (those boards can be Private to only you).

Just to confirm @Michael Pryor's comment. I have boards within my BC Team which are private. No one else can see them as they are set to private.
You can see, that they are part of the BC account, but they are set to 'private' so no one else can see them.
Compared to team visible boards, which look like this:
If you own the BC team, then this is a perfect solution.
If you don't own the BC team, and you leave that employment, you would lose any private boards in the BC team.
So in that case, it would be better to have your strictly personal boards, that you wouldn't want to lose, as personal boards.
(E.g., I own my BC and it's only shared with my husband, so I don't need to worry about losing boards if I leave the BC team, because it's my team! However, if I was using Trello BC with a business that I didn't own, I would keep personal boards as personal and only have boards on the BC team that I was ok with losing).
Hope that clarifies things! Please come back to us if you have further questions!

Sorry, just to add - if you own your BC team, then you automatically get a Gold subscription for your personal boards.
For example, if you have personal boards, then you would get 3 PowerUps per board (compared to unlimited if the board is in the BC team), and all the other increases that Gold provides.

Amazing - thanks everyone for clarifying! I think it sounds like it is going to be worth getting business for myself and then adding others to boards as members where required.

Just to add - information I found out yesterday - you get increases in the number of PowerUps you can have on personal boards, but the Advanced Checklists don't work in personal boards (which makes sense because Trello have stopped users being able to share personal boards). However, Trello are aware that this happens (that you get more allowances for PowerUps on personal boards) so this might change in the future.
At the moment, there are some things that carry over from BC to personal boards and some that don't.
If you're going to get BC and add people to the boards when required, I would remind you that, if you add someone to more than 1 board at a time, they are a chargeable member - "multi-board guest/member"
You can have 50 BC boards, each one can be shared with as many people as you like, BUT as soon as you put the same person onto 2 boards, they become chargeable.
This is a really important point that I had to let you know, because it can be really easy to add people to boards all over BC, and then have a massive bill you weren't expecting!
As long as you don't add anyone to more than 1 board, you'll only be charged for you.
Just wanted to make sure that I said that!

You are amazing Esme, thanks for this. I currently have one or two people that I need on more than one board and as a small business can't afford to pay for each of them to be part of my team. Agh that is frustrating, I guess im.just sticking with the free version until I can justify paying a lot more for it 😞 glad you told me as it would have been an expensive mistake. It's weird that it's just one board before they are in your 'team'.
Thanks again for the support.

Glad I could help @Bradley Williams!
As you're a small business, I would stick with the free teams for the minute, get used to sharing (without it costing) and see how much you use/want other abilities.
You can add people to the BC Team (and pay for them), you can have them on 1 board and not pay for them, but as soon as they're multi-board guests (on more than 1 board but not a member of the team) they're the same price as a BC Team Member (currently £143.99 annually).
Currently, there are no limits on the number of free teams you can have, so I would utilise that as much as you can and see how you get on. There is a limit on the number of boards though, it's limited to 10 in a free team.
If you're going to use free teams, I would offer a word of caution on that as well. There have been recent changes to free teams, now anyone who is a member of a free team (the whole team, not individual boards) can upgrade the whole team to BC.
Meaning that I have suggested to others, and now I suggest to you, that you're the only Free Team Member - add whoever you like to the boards by all means, but only you in the actual Team.
I had to do this with my family team (mother, hubster and myself), as Mother doesn't have a clue how Trello works and is used to the 'I can click anything because Esme can sort it' - well the fact that she could have upgraded the whole team to BC - costing £431.97 in addition to the BC that Hubster and I already have at £287.98, which there's no way we could have afforded meant that I took her and Hubster off the team, but left them on the boards! The board members don't see anything different, but it limits what they can do on the team level!
My advice would be to have free teams, all the way! Have you as the only 'team member' (unless you trust someone else not to click something that they shouldn't!) and add people to the individual boards.
Just another bit of unsolicited advice!!
