Greetings, we are wondering if we can retrieve a card that was deleted by mistake. The customer is Tara Wilson. The card has been recreated but is missing vital information.

Hi there,

I understand how stressful it is to lose vital information. In Trello, once a card is Deleted (not Archived), it is permanently removed from the database and cannot be restored with a simple "undo" button.

However, before giving up, please try these alternative ways to retrieve the missing data:

Check Your Email Notifications: If you (or anyone on the board) have email notifications enabled, search your inbox for the customer’s name, "Tara Wilson." Trello often sends the full card description and recent comments in notification emails. This is usually the best way to recover lost text.

Review Activity Logs: Go to the board's Menu > Activity. While you can't restore the card from here, you can see the history of comments or changes made to that card. Sometimes you can find the text of a comment you need.

Browser Cache/History: If you had that specific card open in a browser tab recently, try pressing Cmd+Z (Mac) or Ctrl+Z (Windows) in your browser, or check your browser history to see if a cached version of the page exists.

Trello Backups (JSON): If you happen to have exported your board to JSON (available in Board Menu > Print and Export) before the deletion, the card data will be in that file.

Archive vs. Delete: Double-check if the card was actually deleted or just Archived. Go to Menu > More > Archived Items and search for "Tara Wilson." If it’s there, you can simply click "Send to Board."

Pro Tip for the future: To prevent this, it’s safer to Archive cards instead of deleting them. Archived cards stay in your database forever and can be searched or restored at any time.

I hope one of these methods helps you recover the vital information for Tara Wilson!
