Hi @[deleted]
Yes, you can do that with Butler, if you want it to be deleted at a specific time or after a specific action, as @Jimmy Seddon has suggested. If you would like to have a bit of guidance in how to do that, we're always here to help.
But if you just want to get rid of the purple label completely because you don't need it anymore etc., on the board you want to delete the purple label from, you could go into:
Show menu (top right)
More
Labels
Click on the little pencil next to the label you don't want and then you'll get this pop-up:
Then click the red delete button.
That would delete the label from the board completely. Then when you wanted another label with the purple background you could go into the labels options again and click 'Create new label':
Hope that's helpful

Hi @[deleted],
I believe you can only accomplish this with a Butler Rule, but in order to do that you will need an event (such as moving cards) that will prompt the automatic deletion of the purple label.
I hope that helps!

There seems to be zero functionality around label allocation in the "board" buttons. This would be hugely valuable. Without this functionality, you have to handle every relabelling activity on a card by card basis which kills of your monthly allocation of butler rules. I am now running out of credits by th 19th because of this limitation. What could be done in 30 actions a month instead costs me around 150. It makes the labelling useless for certain types of activities the ability to use lists vs labels to create a "data grid" is a huge multiplier for the system..... grrr.

I agree. We use Rules to move completed tasks to a temporary board where we then scrub them and archive the task. When cards are moved to a new board you can remove the labels from a card with a Butler rule. We have implemented that rule, but the label remains on the Board. We then run into an upper limit of number of labels per board. We need to be able to create a rule to delete labels in bulk from a board. Deleting them one at a time manually is very time consuming. A board button or calendar rule would work for periodically removing all specific color labels or named labels, but the options do not allow you to, for example; remove all "purple" labels from the board.

Thanks for the help, but I think I misspoke:
I want to keep the label in principle, but I want at some point to have this label deactivated on all cards.
With Butler, the only thing I can currently do is to delete it from one card at a time.
So my command should be something like this:
Find all cards with the purple label and delete that label from all cards.
Unfortunately I don't know how to do this :-(

Hi @[deleted]
Thank you for the clarification!
When you want to deactivate the label from all the cards, are all the cards going to be in the same list?
I only ask because it would be easy to create a Butler rule, that when a card is moved into this list, Butler could remove the purple label. It would look something like this:
Which would mean that Butler would remove the labels one by one as you move the cards into a list, rather than bulk removal.
But if the cards are going to be across the board, then we need a new plan!
Let us know :)
