I have a service business that helps new entrepreneurs build the foundation of their businesses. It occurred to me that the Trello projects feature might be an easy way to keep them updated on the progress being made on their specific product. It could also be a good way for them to communicate with me about that project. I like having everything relating to a project consolidated vs multiple emails and messages that get so scattered.
Can both the follower and the contributor make comments and submit documents to a card/board?
It would also give the new business owner a glimpse into how to use Trello for their business going forward.
Hi Leissa!
Yes, this is a great use case for Trello. You can share a board directly with your clients by inviting them as members. Both you and your clients can comment on cards, attach documents, and track progress in one place — no scattered emails.
Clients invited directly to a board (not through the workspace) are treated as single-board guests, which keeps your workspace tidy and is free on Standard plan.
You can control how much they can do by giving them the Member role (can edit) or Observer role (can only view and comment).
This setup works well for exactly what you're describing — a shared space where you update progress and clients can follow along or leave feedback.
