Checklist items and retaining the due date

Tim Hatari June 13, 2020

It seems Butler does not use the individual checklist item due date when converting outstanding items to new cards. Instead it takes an entire list of individual due dates, and changes them all to the main/original card due date when converting. This is obviously problematic and possibly a bug, rather than by design.

  1. Has this been resolved or when will it be?
  2. Has anyone found a work around for achieving that result, perhaps by giving commands in a certain order, etc?

@Tim Hatari Yep sounds like a bug, someone else mentioned it the other day, does the same problem occur if you convert individual items either on a per trigger basis or in a loop like this?

The rule will not pull the item due date across to the new card I'm afraid, so no.

The only conversion that does exactly what is required is as follows manually...

  1. Opening a card,
  2. Navigating to the required checklist,
  3. Hovering to the righthand side of an item (if you have advanced checklist options set - a task level date in this case),
  4. Clicking on the 3 dots for options and choosing convert to card. There seems to be no way of automating this function, which is clearly already there in the system some capacity.

@Tim Hatari it'd be worth sending this through to the support team, you just need to go back to trello.com/contact and go through all the automated/formy bits and you can eventually send them a message directly to let them know of the problem.

Okay thanks Iain, I'll give that a go.
