Change board with one click?

You could always see the boards on the left. And switch between them with a click.

That's gone now.

Rather than taking up the space for a whole list on the screen, another option would be the ability to put more icons along the top next to the Trello icon, the Search field and the icon cluster to the right.

Just my 2 cents.
