I am unable to log in to my Trello account.

The Gmail address I used to register has been deleted, so I cannot receive the verification code that Trello now requires to log in.

I would like to change the registered email address to regain access. Could someone please guide me to the right support channel for this issue?

Hi @tmba

Since you cannot access the deleted email to receive a verification code, you must request a manual account recovery.

Firstly, go to the Atlassian Support: Pricing, Billing, & Licensing | Atlassian and follow these steps:

  • How can we help? Select Your Account.

  • Choose a topic: Select Log in issues.

  • Need more help? Click this (twice if necessary) to open the message box.

  • Copy and paste the following into the "Your Question" box:

I cannot log in to Trello because my registered Gmail address has been deleted, making it impossible to receive the verification code. I need to update my account to a new email address.

  • Old Email: [Insert deleted email]

  • New Email: [Insert new active email]

I can provide billing details (last 4 digits of the card and billing address) to verify ownership. Please advise on the next steps.

Note: If you don't remember your card details or were on a free plan, proving ownership is much more difficult since there is no billing record to verify. In this case, provide Support with as much "internal" knowledge as possible, such as exact board names, unique card titles, and the names of people you collaborated with. Please keep in mind that without billing data, recovery is not guaranteed, as Atlassian has strict security requirements to protect account privacy.

A Support Engineer will contact you at your new email to review your request. If they can successfully verify your identity through your billing details or provided account knowledge, they will manually update your email address so you can regain access.

Best,
Samuil

Thank you for your reply, Arkadiusz!

Unfortunately, I have the Trello app on my phone, but I logged out a while ago, so I need to log in again — which requires the verification code sent to the deleted email address.

Do you have any other suggestions?

@tmba

Thanks for confirming. Since you're logged out on mobile as well, there isn't a quick Trello-side workaround. For security reasons, Atlassian cannot change an account's email address unless you can already log in or access the registered inbox.

Your best move right now is to recover your deleted Gmail account through Google. If you can restore that inbox, you'll be able to receive Trello's verification emails, log back in, and update your settings immediately. If Google cannot restore it, Trello Support will need to review your specific case. I have flagged this thread for them, as Community users cannot verify ownership or alter account data.

Best,

Arkadiusz🤠
