In Trello we now have recurrence. But some tasks are don't fit in the options described. Can we have like an additional recurrence option: "every other..." - then be able to select "day" "work day" "week" "month"?
Hi @Ervin Bolat
Great question — this comes up quite often with recurring cards in Trello.
Out-of-the-box, Trello’s native recurrence feature doesn’t currently support a custom “Every other…” selector (like every other workday, every other month, etc.) via a simple dropdown.
Trello recurrence supports:
Every day
Every week
Every month
Custom intervals (like every 2 weeks, every 3 months, etc.)
So technically, “every other week” or “every other month” can already be achieved by setting the interval to 2 weeks or 2 months.
Where it becomes tricky:
❌ “Every other workday”
❌ Skipping weekends automatically in alternating patterns
❌ More complex calendar logic
Those aren’t supported natively.
If you just need:
Every other day → Set repeat to every 2 days
Every other week → every 2 weeks
Every other month → every 2 months
That works perfectly.
With Butler (built into Trello), you can create more advanced scheduled rules like:
“Every weekday at 9am create a card…”
Add conditions to skip weekends
It still won’t perfectly handle “every other workday” logic automatically, but you can approximate it using scheduled commands.
If this is important for your workflow, I’d recommend submitting it as a feature request here:

Trello’s product team actively reviews suggestions there.
Many users manage “every other” scenarios using:
Interval = 2 (for week/month/day)
Or automation rules for more complex cases
But yes — a clearer “Every other…” UI option would definitely improve usability.
If you describe your exact use case (especially for “work day”), I can suggest the cleanest setup for it.
I hope this helps you out.
