Butler: How to automate moving a card once the end time has passed

Emma Turner September 5, 2019

Is it possible to have a card move from a list to an alternative list once a due date end time has passed?

I am setting up a very complicated travel itineary.  I have lists for each date and then cards on each date with either an activity, travel, further info or dining info.  Ie, lets say there is a flight to catch from Houston to San Antonio which departs on 4th October, it leaves at 14:40 and arrives at 15:40.  I have this set up on a List "4th October" and the  card titled Flight with a Due Date, start time and end time (to correspond with the flight departure and arrival time).  Once the Due Date end time has passed I would like the card to automatically move to the "Completed" list.

I have worked out how to set up Butler to move any cards once the Due Date has passed, to a list called "completed" at 23:59 each day (see screengrab) but would prefer the individual card moves so that as items pass during the day they essentialy fall off the List.  This way when the traveller is looking at his list for 4th October he will only see the items which are still upcoming not the ones he has already completed that day.

Ideally I'd like the whole now empty List to then be archived.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Hi @Emma Turner

Since you want to have these cards move on their own rather than at a scheduled basis, you'll want to create a Due Date command like this:

With that set, you could then update your scheduled rule to archive all cards in that list at the end of the day, if you preferred.

I hope that helps!
