Board Deletion or different account?

It has been a few years since I have logged into my Trello account. I signed back in to look at old Trello boards that I was using for an app development. I had saved test user accounts, API account information, etc. on these boards as well as communications back and forth with the app developer. When I signed back in, it appears as if all of these boards and associated information is gone. I have notification emails from Trello from years ago that are associated with the login email I used to sign back in that shows the dev team communicating and tagging me in posts on these Trello boards. Are boards that are inactive for a period of time automatically deleted? Is there any way of recovering this information? When I log in now, it looks like I started a brand new account with no record of my previous boards. I've also seen that I may have had more than one account under the same email but can not find a way to see if that may be the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, John.

Hi John!

Trello does not automatically delete boards due to inactivity, so your data should still exist somewhere. The most likely explanation is an account mismatch — here's what I'd suggest:

1. Check if you're in the right account
After Atlassian acquired Trello, there were account migrations that sometimes caused confusion. If you originally signed in with Google and now you're using email/password (or vice versa), you may have ended up in a completely different account. Try signing out and logging back in using a different method (Google, Microsoft, Apple, or email/password).

2. Verify your account creation date
Go to https://account.atlassian.com → Profile. If your account shows a recent creation date, that confirms you're in a new account, not your original one.

3. Check for closed boards

If you are in the right account, your boards might have been closed (archived) rather than deleted. In Trello, go to your Workspace, scroll down and look for "View closed boards" at the bottom of the boards list.

4. Contact Atlassian Support

Atlassian Support can check whether there are multiple accounts associated with your email and help you regain access to the original one.

Hope this helps!
