Automation of Checkbox not working

I have this automation set up:

when custom field "Ran" is checked in a card with custom field "Repeat Type" set to "Daily", set date custom field "Next Run" to tomorrow at 5:00 am, and uncheck custom field "Ran"

When 'Ran' is checked, the 'Next Run' field is filled out correctly, but the field isn't unchecked. I have messed around with it, and determined that no automation involving changing the value of a checkbox custom field works. Is this a known bug? Is there something I am doing wrong?

I tested this automation on my test board, and it was working for me:

I was able to reproduce the behaviour you're seeing, and I believe I’ve identified the cause.

It appears there are two main factors at play:

  • A known limitation with Trello automation is that it may not process correctly on cards created before the automation rule was established.

  • In my testing, I found that if you create a new card, set the repeat type to Daily, and then check the RAN checkbox, the automation successfully sets the date and unchecks the box as expected.

To confirm this is working correctly for you, could you please:

  1. Create a brand-new test card.

  2. Set the repeat type to Daily.

  3. Check the RAN checkbox and see if it processes correctly.

I was messing around with it more, and it unchecked itself once, but I haven't been able to recreate the success since. It seems inconsistent at the very least, which isn't great for my use case.
