Hi,

So trying to automate my board so that if card moved/added always goes to top. But it keeps failing on doing that. Tried to create a button so I can sort it by time in list it creates the button but I can't see it anywhere on the dashboard.

Any help would be appreciated.

The missing control may depend on whether the automation was created as a card button or a board button. I would first open Automation → Buttons directly, verify the button type, and confirm that it is enabled for this board.

For an on-demand alternative, I develop BoardPilot. You can ask it to move or reorganize cards in plain English, review the proposed changes, and approve them before anything runs. It is not an automatic “whenever a card is added” trigger:

Hi Jon,

If you’re having problems with Trello automation, as an alternative I recommend trying Board Assistant:

It includes a dedicated section where you can set up automatic card sorting in just a few clicks, using different card fields.2026-07-17_10-21.png
