Hi, our admin left the company over 12 months ago. We are not able to rename any boards or delete old boards we no longer require that were created by the admin that left our company.
If they used a company email address to create their Trello account, I think the easiest way is to re-enable (or ask your IT department to) that email address to then be able to log in and add a new admin. If not, contact https://trello.com/contact and they will help you
