Add member to board

I want to invite someone to my personal Trello board. It is not under a team umbrella, but when I go to invite someone it says I need to add my board to a team. I don't want to make a team for a personal board. Is there a way around this?

I was having this same issue and just figured out a workaround. Go to any card on your board. Click Members, then it should let you start typing a name. It'll let you add someone's email address there. I added the email I knew my recipient uses on another Trello board. 

Their name now appears in the top section for members on my overall board, and the "Invite" box now lets me add via normal options, not just Teams.
