We know that many of you in this forum have workflows that rely on using Jira and Trello together 🤝. Now you can use a Trello card to create a new Jira work item without switching tools or starting from scratch. If you used the Jira Power-Up before it was retired, this is the new native functionality.
Open the card front menu on any regular Trello card and look for the option to “Create Jira work item.” This will create a new Jira link card with two-way linking between them. From there, you can edit the Jira work item right from your Trello board and your updates will show up in Jira, too. If you don't have a Jira account yet, you can create one right from Trello as part of this flow.
Your card details carry over automatically and your original Trello card stays on the board. This is intentional because it gives you the flexibility to decide what works best for your workflow: keep both cards, archive the original Trello card, or archive the new Jira link card.
Use this feature when a task on your Trello board needs the more rigorous structure and tracking that Jira offers — for example, when it's evolving from a personal to-do into a team project. This option is only available on regular cards and only on when using Trello on a Chrome or Edge web browser.
