Rolling out Confluence, or trying to get more teams to actually use it, can feel overwhelming—especially when you’re juggling strategy, change management, and day-to-day support. Enter the Confluence Adoption Guide and the Confluence Cloud Adoption Guide, designed to give you everything you need to plan, launch, and champion Confluence adoption in an effective way.

Instead of piecing together resources, the Confluence Adoption Guides bring together curated strategies, step-by-step plans, and real-world examples—all in one place.

We chatted with @Christina Nelson, our Senior Strategist for Enterprise Learning Solutions, about why these guides exist and how best to employ them.

Q: What is the purpose of the Community & Learning Adoption Guides?

A: The Community Adoption Guides are designed to empower our customers, especially our champions and admins, with practical, step-by-step strategies and resources to drive successful adoption of Atlassian apps within their organizations. These guides help teams unlock the full value of our tools, foster collaboration, and accelerate business outcomes.

Q: Why did we develop these guides?

A: We developed these guides in response to customer feedback and real-world challenges around change management and product adoption. Our goal was to provide actionable, easy-to-follow guidance that addresses common pain points, supports learning and enablement, and helps organizations realize the benefits of Atlassian solutions more quickly and effectively.

Q: Who are these guides for?

A: These guides are for anyone leading or supporting Atlassian adoption within their organization—whether you’re an admin, team lead, change champion, or part of an enablement or IT team. They’re especially valuable for organizations navigating large-scale rollouts, upgrades from Data Center to Cloud, or looking to build a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 

Q: What’s your favorite resource in the Confluence Adoption Guide and the Confluence Data Center to Cloud Adoption Guide?

A: In the Confluence Adoption Guide, my favorite resource is “Build good habits”, which provides guidance and best practices on making Confluence use and maintenance a natural part of how a team works. In the Confluence Data Center to Cloud Adoption Guide, I love the “Build trust in Confluence Cloud” resource—it’s practical, actionable and helps teams that are used to Data Center address early pain points.
