A poorly configured service space can create friction for everyone: customers struggle to submit requests, agents get overwhelmed, and nothing moves at a consistent pace. In this new two-course series, an experienced instructor teaches your organization’s beginner Jira Service Management space admins how to set up a service space so requests are easy to submit, routed to the right people, and managed in a consistent way.

Jira Service Management basics
Set up a service space
Manage access and permissions
This course covers the foundations and is a great starting point for new Jira Service Management space admins. Space admins will learn the ins and outs of Jira Service Management and the roles within, and how to set up a new service space. Your team will learn how to add agents, collaborators, and customers, and ensure everyone has the right access and permissions from the beginning.
JSM space admin: Configure request types, queues, SLAs, and channels (~6 hours)
Build request types and the portal
Configure queues for agent triage
Configure service level agreements (SLAs)
Set up request channels and notifications
This course builds on the first. Your team will learn how to configure request types, queues, SLAs, request channels, and customer notifications so customers can easily request the help they need and agents can prioritize incoming work. That means fewer back-and-forth requests, less time triaging, and a clearer picture of whether your team is meeting service expectations.
These courses are for beginner Jira Service Management space admins, or for space admins tasked with configuring a new service space. The courses can be taken separately, or teams can take both in sequence to get the full experience. There are no prerequisites, though your team should have a working knowledge of Jira Service Management.
Both courses are live, instructor-led team training (available in person or virtually) and include hands-on practice in a sandbox environment.
Check out JSM space admin: Explore space settings and configure access and JSM space admin: Configure request types, queues, SLAs, and channels in the Team Training catalog. From there, you can schedule training for your team.
If your organization’s service space needs work or you’re just getting started with Jira Service Management, this course is a practical place to start.
