create the issue in Jira automatically in case of build / deployment failure in git

We would like to create the issue in Jira automatically in case of build / deployment failure in gitlab. I have searched few ways to do this and one of the method is making use of REST API and Pre-post build command runner plugin.

You can use Jira Automation rules for achieving this. There are triggers for Build failed/Deployment Failed.
