We have a private StatusPage and I'm noticing that when someone uses the subscribe to updates button, they are able to put in any email address. Is there a way to lock this feature down to reject email self subscription requests if the email domain doesn't match with a pre-defined list? There are only certain email domains that we want emails sent to for notifications but I am not seeing how to put that type of restriction in place.
Hello Eric,
Thank you for contacting the StatusPage community. We understand you wish to see message details in the new Analytics UI.
As you have your StatusPage set to private. Because of this, the only people that can subscribe are users that you have authorized. There is no limitation, however, on which email domain they are subscribing from.
As long as the account itself has access to the private page, they can subscribe. The system essentially checks to see that an authorized user is logged in and then lets that person subscribe.
We do have a feature request open for Restricting subscriber emails from a specific domain with the id STATUS-24. Since the StatusPage feature requests are private, you can reach out to us with the given id and we can provide an update to you regarding the progress on the feature request.
If you needed full control over who can see what within your company, an audience specific statuspage could also be explored. This only allows the user that is signed into the account to subscribe with the email they are currently using to log in with. This would also control what components and incidents a user could see.
Please take a look here for more information about that: https://help.statuspage.io/help/what-are-audience-specific-pages.
I hope the above helps.
Regards,
Nayan
