The deleted file is shown in the staging area

I have a deleted file which is not existing in the physical drive. Why it always displays in the staging area?

I used the different command such as

git rm

But it is not working. I don't want this file. If I click discard it, it comes back.

The change (deleting the file) is in staging until you commit the change and finalize the action.
