We have a few users reporting that their Sourcetree app fails to open after upgrading to Win 10 22H2. The log files have entries similar to the below but we have not found a fix:
ERROR [2023-09-29 12:25:23,145] [1] [SourceTree.App] [Log] - Object reference not set to an instance of an object. The application is terminating.
We uninstalled the application and installed the latest with no success.
Is there a fix for this issue?
Welcome to the Atlassian community!
I believe a reinstall alone won't fix this because the config files persist in your user profile.
You could try clearing the Sourcetree app data by deleting or renaming the contents of %LOCALAPPDATA%\Atlassian\SourceTree, while Sourcetree is closed, then launching it again. Note that this will remove your stored accounts and repository bookmarks, so you will need to re-add those afterward. Your actual Git repositories and history are not affected.
Cheers, Martin
