Environment: Sourcetree 1.9.6.1 on Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
My machine crashed while Sourcetree was open. Upon reboot, the application says "Sourcetree has stopped working" and asks If I wish to have the app check online for a solution. If I do so, everything just immediately closes.
I tried uninstalling Sourcetree, rebooting, and re-installing and I still get the same error.

Had a similar issue: uninstall, then remove the %localappdata%\Atlassian\SourceTree folder before re-installing
You might have to use "Control Panel/Folders/ show hidden files" to be able to see that folder
This fixed it for me, thanks!

Same problem, same fix.
Crashing issues started when I left SourceTree open while doing some final debug/verification on some code. My whole repository, including uncommitted changes and a few scrap files disappeared and SourceTree crashed and would not reopen. Not sure who's the chicken and who's the egg, but I couldn't get a clean SourceTree reinstall until deleting that temp folder.
