Hello Sourcetree team and community,
Thank you for the excellent Git tool — I've relied on Sourcetree for years.
After updating, the macOS app icon's rounded corners appear mismatched or awkward in the Dock (possibly due to macOS enforcing a specific corner radius/squircle shape). As someone sensitive to UI details (mild OCD around visual consistency), this irregularity stands out strongly and disrupts my focus every time I glance at the Dock or Launchpad. It doesn't blend harmoniously with other apps' icons, which follow Apple's guidelines more closely.
This seems related to past issues like SRCTREE-8221 (icon update needed for macOS 26, mentions white square/no rounded corners backing) and SRCTREE-7479 (Big Sur shape mismatch).
**Polite request/suggestions:**
- Update the icon asset to properly support macOS's current rounded corner radius (squircle style) with transparent background.
- Ensure no forced square/gray backing appears — add transparency so macOS can apply the correct masking and radius uniformly.
- Ideally, align with Apple's HIG for app icons: square base with appropriate rounded corners, gradients if possible for depth.
I've attached screenshots of my Dock (highlighting the corner issue) and a comparison with a well-adapted app icon.
A small fix here would make a huge difference for users sensitive to these visual inconsistencies. Thank you for considering this!
Best,
