Repository not appearing in SourceTree after cloning

I have a couple of problems with SourceTree, which are likely related.
Firstly, SourceTree has stopped detecting changes to or new image files in one of our repositories. All other repositories are fine with images, and this repository is fine with text-based files. The gitignore file is not excluding image files.
The second problem is that I removed the repository from my laptop and then tried to reclone it. The files are cloned to my laptop, but the repository is not displayed in SourceTree.
