Welcome to the Atlassian community!

The problem seems to be that aaa is the branch currently checked out. Sourcetree prevents deleting the branch you're on. In your screenshot, aaa appears to be the only branch in the repository, and Git requires at least one branch to remain.

I would do this:

  • Right-click your commit 3 and pick Branch to create a second branch, for example main
  • Double-click main to check it out
  • Now Right-click aaa and choose Delete aaa

If you're simply looking to give a cleaner name rather than deleting, you can just right-click on 'aaa' and select 'Rename branch'.

Could you please clarify on your end whether you're aiming to remove aaa altogether or if you'd prefer to replace it with a different branch name? Knowing this will help determine which of the two steps above is the best fit for your needs.
