So I've committed stuff to the development branch for the umpth time - and I cannot push it because of restrictions in GitHub.

The errors is mine - but I would like to setup sourcetree as to prevent committing stuff into the branch so that I don't do this mistake ever again.

How do I do that?

Thanks.

It isn't something you can configure in Sourcetree, but you can use a Git pre-commit hook, see the example here https://gist.github.com/stefansundin/9059706 for something similar and Sourcetree will respect that.

It wont stop you trying to commit to the specified branch but it will error when you do
