How to ignore loading changes on certain file extensions?

I'm uploading files that are quite big and some of them take time to load the changes in the commit view.
I don't want certain types of extensions to be checked when clicking the files, so I can tell ST to load the changes by hand if I want.
Otherwise, if I accidentally click on one of the large files, it stops for many seconds until changes are loaded. And this happens very often.
