How do I add node to Sourcetree application path in Yosemite so that my Git hooks will run?

I used to add the node path to launchd.conf, as referenced in one of the links I found in this question:

SourceTree : Hook failing because paths don't seem to be set correctly

With OSX 10.10 Yosemite it seems that launchd.conf and ~/.MacOSX/environment.plist solutions are deprecated. I've tried various other plist solutions and none seem to add the path in such a way that Sourcetree will pick it up. The only thing that works is opening Sourcetree from a terminal window.

Same issue, I feel like I'm missing something here. I even added the correct path (/usr/local/bin) to .zshenv so that it would get picked up by the noninteractive session and it's still not working.
