I'm still on v2.3.2, but I've noticed recently that I'm also getting that sort of frequent "refresh and refresh again" behaviour. This is at work on El Capitan 10.11, where the repository is SMB-mounted from an old Debian box with smbd 3.6.6, which has had its own oddities, and I thought it might be related to that. Are your problems with a repository on the local MacOS filesystem?
